Principal Investigator: Professor Hazel Hall
Hazel Hall is Professor of Social Informatics within the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University. Her main research interests include information behaviour and use, online communities and collaboration, library and information science research, and research impact.
Research Fellow: Dr Bruce Ryan
Bruce Ryan is a Researcher in the Centre for Social Informatics within the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University. His main research interests include democratic digital engagement, information literacy, and library and information science research.

Project board

Ines Byrne
Ines Byrne is Digital Transition Manager at the National Library of Scotland. Ines leads on the Library’s strategic goal to have a third of its collections in digital format by 2025. This includes responsibility for developing approaches for growing the digital collections, ensuring sound management of digital assets, and overseeing new approaches such as digital scholarship to support the exploitation of the Library’s digital collections.
Martina McChrystal
Martina McChrystal is Director of Library Services at the University of Glasgow. She was appointed by the Deputy First Minister in 2018 as Chair of a national Advisory Group to deliver a new strategy for Scottish School Libraries. Vibrant Libraries, Thriving Schools was published in September 2018. Martina is 2019 Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in Scotland (CILIPs).
Paul McCloskey
Paul McCloskey is Lifelong Learning Strategic Manager for Community Learning and Development (CLD) and Libraries at the City of Edinburgh Council. He has responsibility for strategic development of CLD and Libraries.
Andy Taylor
Andy has worked in a variety of roles as a Research Software Engineer for the past ten years. These roles have included subjects matter as diverse as Collective Behaviour, Visualisation of Mouse Embryos, Data Science toolkits, Conversational Agents, Geographical Information Systems, Machine Learning, Research Repositories and Digital Humanities. Currently, he is Senior Scientist at BioAscent Drug Discovery. His particular research interests include machine learning, data science, ontologies, imaging, databases, semantic web technologies, visualisation, metadata, research data management & systems, data analytics, library information and knowledge technologies, software development.
